Fitness enthusiast and reviewer from Paris

The Short Version

I go by Marie Dupont and live in Paris, and for several years I’ve been documenting my experiences at gyms across France.

This site emerged after I grew tired of selecting gyms by ads and vague suggestions, only to find the actual experience didn’t match. I sought concrete, truthful details about what these places were really like. When I couldn't find that, I chose to build it myself.

How This Started

My fitness routine began at a small club near 12 Rue de la Tour Fitness Club in Paris. It wasn’t perfect, yet it was reachable, affordable, and it helped me stay consistent.

When that place shut down, I saw how fast the fitness scene in France was evolving. New clubs opened, new concepts appeared, and marketing often outpaced actual member experience.

I began trying various gyms and classes, jotting notes after each visit. Eventually those notes became this site, created to help others make more informed decisions.

My Approach to Reviews

Each review here is based on genuine visits and time spent inside the facility. I emphasize practical details that matter when selecting a membership.

When evaluating a fitness center, I usually:

  • Invest sufficient time to grasp routines, peak periods, and trends
  • Visit on various days and at different times
  • Experiment with multiple training formats and instructors
  • Use facilities regularly to assess cleanliness and comfort
  • Speak with other members about consistency and differences
  • Take notes right after each visit

I update reviews when circumstances change significantly: renovations, management changes, pricing adjustments, or new facilities. Each article shows its last update date so you know how current the information is.

What I Look For

My priorities may differ from yours, so here is what matters most to me when assessing a gym:

Comfort and Privacy: Does the space feel thoughtfully designed for members, with clear boundaries and a tranquil vibe?

Equipment Quality: Are machines well-maintained? Is there enough variety? Do things get fixed promptly?

Crowd Management: Can you actually train during your preferred time without waiting constantly?

Clean Facilities: Locker rooms, showers, floors, and equipment surfaces. Cleanliness shows how seriously management treats the member experience.

Honest Membership Practices: Clear pricing, clear rules, and no unpleasant surprises.

Beyond the Gym

Outside of training and writing, I live and work in Paris. This project is here to make fitness choices easier and more transparent for people looking for the right environment.
